I am the Founder & Principal Consultant for ITSM, Spekboom LTD.

I didn’t come up through the usual routes. I left school at 16 after an accident changed the course of my life, and for a long time, survival meant doing whatever work was available. Construction, mining, bar shifts, etc; often more than one at a time while struggling to get an education. That early chapter taught me something most transformation programmes quietly forget; real life is messy, constrained, and human. It’s shaped how I see organisations today.

I put myself through university twice, earning a BSc in Environmental Science and later an MSc in Management Consultancy and Organisational Change, while building a life in the UK from the ground up with very little support. Over the past 20+ years in technology and telecommunications, and 13+ years leading transformation programmes, I’ve worked across eight countries and delivered complex, multi-million-pound initiatives in financial services, public sector, and a broad range of other regulated environments and industries. 

My focus has always been the same: bring clarity where there’s confusion, control where there’s drift, and delivery where it matters most. Whilst trying to have some fun and make meaningful connections in a life that is very fleeting and full of change.

Above all, I believe in doing the right thing. Supporting people where I can, creating opportunities for others, and leaving things better than I found them.
